SimPose 6

Put a skin  on pose is quite easy , even if  we admit  that the first time it should  be a bit strange. With this tutorial we should try to make it easy from the beginning .

This is the first screenshot that you will see when you’ll open the program (LIGHTS/CAMERA).

We have marked with number all the useful parts  to make it easier to follow:

1)       Modifying this part we can change the viewpoint of our skin. Usually  I choose the first that is named facing because for me it’s easier the work, but you can choose the one you prefer .

2)       Here we can choose the rotation, that can be stopped (as now), slow or fast

3)       Here we can control some things (in the lower asterisk you can see all the voices of the bar). We try to explain the first three that are the most important:

-          Background: with this control we can modify the background, the levers (direction, elevation, zoom and offset) can’t be modified, but clicking on change we can modify the colour of the background, while clicking on add picture we can insert a picture as a background, taking it from our pc. The only bond is that the format of the picture must be .bmp

-          Ambient: also with this control  we can’t modify the levers, we can only clicking on change for modify the color of the sim on the right, if we choose white we will see it normal, but if we select other colours…try it and you’ll see…the effect is guaranteed  :D:D:D.

-          Camera: thanks to this control we can modify only the lower levers,

·         Direction: we choose the direction of the body

·         Elevation: for upward or downward the body of the sims

·         Zoom: for get closer or go farther the sims

·         Offset: for lift up or let down the sim

You can find this screenshot clicking on CHARACTER. Let’s continue in the explanation  through numbers… hoping that this can make all more easy!

1)       Here you can  decide how many sims manage and in which  position see them; besides with the two button beside (sim1 and sim2) you can choose (as long as you have choose two sims) which one of them modify.

2)       Here you can choose the age (adult or child), the gender, the build and the colour of the skin to put in pose

3)       With this bar you can choose the peculiarity of the skin: (a) for choose the mesh (or else the shape if  trousers, skirt etc.)  (b) for choose the dress you want

4)       Here you can choose the peculiarity of the heads: (a) for the mesh (or else the hairstyle of the head) (b) for the face

5)       This one is certainly the bar most important for put in pose your skin: da qui si controlla tutto!

The last screen, that you can obtain by clicking on SEQUENCING, give us the chance to do a little sketch: try and you will see, it’s realy funny!!!

TO INSERT IN SIMPOSE OUR CREATIONS

We have to put them in the gamedata folder (not the one of the sims but the one specific of simpose that you can find in the same folder in which you find the executable icon of the program)

Opening it  you will find a lot of folders but not loose hope…it’s very easy!!!:D

The folders in which we have to put the meshes  (for simpose are enough the files that begin with Xskin)are the one in which there is “obj”  ahead, that are:

OBJB (boy )

OBJF (female)

OBJG (girl)

OBJM (male)

Each one is divided into other three folders that are named BODY, HAND, HEAD. So if you want for example to insert the mesh of a woman’s dress you only have to put the file in the OBJF/BODY folder, or for the mesh of a child’s head you have to put it in OBJB/HEAD.

For the .BMP files the folder in which you have to put them are the ones who begin with “tex”

TEXB

TEXF

TEXG

TEXM

(B, F, G and M have the same meaning of above, so BOY, FEMALE, GIRL, MALE)

Also this folders are divided into BODY, HAND, HEAD, and, exactly as above, if you want to insert the image of a woman’s dress you have to put it in the TEXF/BODY folders, it’s the same process.

It’s important to remember …the meshes in OBJ, while the images in the TEX folder.

There are two other folders that should be important: OBJP and TEXP. The P stands for props . you can find them on the web and are useful for making the skin prettier once you have put them in pose!

As always the files .Skn have to be put in the OBJ folder (corrispondent to the mesh) while the files  .bmp have to be put in TEX (that corrispond to the images).

TO SAVE A POSE

All it takes is to go to the  upper bar on  “Static”, to choose “Save pose to library” and on the window that appear to click on “add”, type the name that you want to give to the pose and then click on ok. Following this method  you can save more poses.

After that, to create a folder that will pick up your poses, you have to click on  “static” and to choose “Save as pose library”; in the window that will appear write the name you want to give to the folder.

To resume your poses (also the one you have downolad from the web) you have to go on “static”, click on “load pose library” and then choose the one you want.

Here you can find some links from the web of where you can dowload some poses:
